ABSTRACT
Sugarcane is composed of one-third of cane juice and two-thirds of biomass consisting of straw (dry and green leaves), tops, and bagasse. The juice provides the raw material for the manufacture of sugar and alcohol. In addition to its three main products-sugar, alcohol, and electricity-the sugarcane production chain generates various agro-industrial residues, all of which are recycled in sugarcane production.
