ABSTRACT

Action Research for Inclusive Education: Participation and Democracy in Teaching and Learning explores the fundamental ideas of Action Research relating to democracy and participation with a particular focus on developing inclusive education through Social Constructivist approaches to teaching and learning. In contrast to earlier work presented in Action Research for Inclusive Education: Changing Places, Changing Practices, Changing Minds (edited by Felicity Armstrong and Michele Moore, published by Routledge in 2004), the chapters in this book are written by researcher-practitioners from a range of international settings, including Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Granada, Greece, Singapore and England. The projects presented in the different chapters explore the nuts and bolts of inclusive teaching and learning and the development of inclusive cultures within a wider theoretical framework.
