ABSTRACT

The use of thermoplastic composites produced from synthetic polymers reinforced with natural fibers has attracted the attention of many researchers and industries worldwide. The research on kenaf-reinforced thermoplastic received much attention owing to its significance properties for a wide variety of applications, such as the development of eco-friendly assets for the automotive parts, sports, food packaging, furniture, textiles, paper and pulp, and fiberboard industries. Kenaf fiber is obtained from the stems of plants. Due to the good mechanical strength and thermal properties of kenaf composites, it is suitable applicant for high performance material such as extruded plastic fencing, decking, and furniture padding. Compression molding is a pressure method that very popular in the manufacturing of natural fiber composites because of its high reproducibility and low cycle time. Injection molding is by far the most used processing technique of producing parts from thermoplastic materials due to its high productivity.
