ABSTRACT
This chapter defines qualitative assessment and discusses strategies for use with couples and families. It describes diagnostic interviewing, the genogram, Adult Attachment Inventory, Interventive Interviewing, the Cultural Formulation Interview, Emotional Mapping, and Recursive Frame Analysis. Case material illustrates the use of these assessments.
