ABSTRACT

In this chapter we present an interactive GPU-accelerated DOF implementation that extends the capabilities of the existing methods with automatic edge improvements and physically based parameters. Defocus effects are usually controlled by blur radius, but can also be driven by physically based properties. Our technique supports postproduction defocus on images and sequences using a grayscale depth map image and parameters like focal length, f-stop values, subject magnitude, camera distance, and the real depth of the image.
