ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 includes a description of the three commonly used carbon-based nanomaterials, C60, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and graphene. Herein, the reader will find a discussion of the structural, chemical, physical, and electrical characteristics of these materials. To add, various forms of synthesizing and modifying these carbon-based nanostructures is included as well. An overview of the use of carbon-nanotubes—to create electronic components (transistors)—is included in this chapter as well, in addition to a description of the operation of CNT-based electronic components.
