ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the materialities of mediated sharing practices and the participant’s perceptions and navigations of these. This chapter pays particular attention to the technologies that mediate sharing practices. It contributes an understanding of how experiences of sharing are framed by these mediating technologies. By examining expectations of connectivity, it identifies simultaneous intimacies of technology and animosities towards them. It also examines broader contexts and ‘publics’ that mediate sharing.
