ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses three subtle secrets Millennials have about business leaders and their operation that will help they better understand them. Comparing salaries from decades ago to what employees make now is impractical, expressing how fortunate Millennials are to have extended time off from work for lunch is irrelevant, and fighting technological advances demonstrates a disconnect from reality. While Millennials do have an interest in being part of a successful business, they are also passionate about areas not related to the bottom line. Millennials are able to humanize business by not focusing solely on money, yet can struggle to accept the importance of sound financial decisions. Businesses are designed to make money. This has been and always will be the reason companies are created. However, how they operate and what their business processes are can vary based on how leaders choose to run the organization.
