ABSTRACT

Business operations are more intertwined than ever before, making it imperative to champion a collaborative culture in which everyone is able to work together. To build strong workplaces, leaders must adapt their overarching management style to meet the needs of the generation. Though leaders put forth their best effort to meet the demands of employees, there are times their actions are seen as outdated or less than optimal. Leaders must leverage the unique skill sets of each member of the team by meeting them at their current level. Millennials want agile leadership. Agile leadership encompasses the ability to take effective action in complex, rapidly changing conditions and deliver superior results. Millennials love leaders who are capable of managing through ambiguity, are willing to take calculated risks to solve problems, and are prone to developing new paths to achieve challenging goals. Millennials also love a collaborative culture over business silos because of the positive energy and tremendous momentum that can be generated.
