ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses six real-world issues those are: five reasons other generations drive Millennials crazy; five reasons Millennials think differently than previous generations; five tips on how to balance communication preferences amongst generations; teamwork and collaboration; combining Millennials and Baby Boomers; and Millennials managing Baby Boomers. Every generation has people that irk them, actions that cause them frustration, and experiences that send them into frenzy. The five specific ways other generations drive Millennials crazy: they are slow to change, they are unwilling to learn how to use new technology, they waste their time, and they don't share credit. Millennials think, act, and work differently than previous generations. Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials all have different preferences when it comes to communication, so it can be difficult to know how to engage employees effectively. The chapter reviews the communication preferences members of each generation have.
