ABSTRACT

Production systems of parallel–serial arrangements represent combinations of parallel and serial manufacturing systems, which are designed according to the prescribed technological processes and specificity of work part designs. Manufacturing systems of a parallel–serial arrangement represent a combination of parallel and serial manufacturing systems, which are laid out according to the prescribed technological processes. The productivity rate per cycle time, total productivity rates and availability for the given data of the manufacturing system of parallel–serial arrangement are calculated. The automated line of parallel–serial structure and linear arrangement is designed with hard connections between all workstations of parallel and serial location. The failure of any workstation in such designed line leads to a downtime of the entire line until completion of failure fixing. This automated line of parallel–serial structure is characterised by the negative and positive properties of the automated lines according to the number of parallel and serial workstations.
