ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the process of deciding which Storyline approach to use. It explores the basic concept of using Storyline to promote a passion for learning in an interdisciplinary way. The chapter looks at the four possible approaches: Street, letter, challenge and visitor. Clearly the 'product' element of learning and assessment is something that teachers use every day to monitor learning progress. From marking the jotters to assessing their artwork, the 'examination of product' is perhaps the easiest way to track learning. The process is the steps taken on the way to the product. The listening and talking, the negotiating and problem solving, the interactions and ability to overcome challenges and setbacks – all of these feature in the process of learning. Although Storyline is essentially an immersive experience it is still something that should provide the learner with knowledge.
