ABSTRACT

Namkachu originates from Thagla near Tsangle at 4,724 m and flows in between Tsangdhar and Thagla and falls into Nyan Jang Chu River originating from Thagla's eastern slope, passing through Khizeman. Kanchenjunga is the third highest peak in the world at 28,146 ft. On the Nepal-Sikkim border it is some 105 miles west of Darjeeling. If there is one thing that defines the Darjeeling hills, it is the mist, caught between the hot plains of north Bengal and frigid snows of the Kanchenjunga Peak massif. Arunachal Pradesh has 157 km of border with Bhutan, 1,030 km with Tibet and 441 km with Burma. Chinese entered Indian territory in 1962 through the gaps of Bumla, Longju and Rima. Tawang tract is a wedge between two ranges of Himalayas, Thagla in the north and Se la in the south. Tawang has religious connections with Tibet.
