ABSTRACT

The engine driving system science is the identification of the influencing factors of each principal activity group, and that is the next step in the creation of a system map. Influencing factors could include key processes, although our process mapping and improvement should be a separate activity. The system map is looking at the operation of a single system as its focus and positively influencing its many factors to achieve its defined outcome. The development of influencing factors can be accomplished through brainstorming cause factors and then analyzing the relative importance and impact of each. Influencing factors may also be outputs, either of key processes or of other program or executive offices. The system map should provide an overall management tool for practices necessary for all hires and for all human resource activities in the year. The system map will then necessarily embrace many important executive management activities that a process map will miss.
