ABSTRACT
Medicine is a constantly changing field and clinicians must keep abreast of new practices and interventions. The medical literature contains a variety of studies and clinical trials. It is important that the clinician is able to interpret study results and assess study quality to make reliable decisions about a patient’s care. This chapter provides the reader with a basic grounding in the interpretation and application of clinical trial data, as well as a guide to working with clinical practice guidelines.
