ABSTRACT
Improvements in stent profile, tracking and deliverability, and drug-elution characteristics over the past decade have greatly facilitated percutaneous coronary interventions, improving the success rate and reducing complications. However, there remain subsets of patients with complex coronary or peripheral vascular disease for whom conventional approaches remain challenging. This chapter deals with devices that have a role in selected patients with complex disease when used alone or prior to coronary stenting.
