ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on small group instruction using levelled texts. It also describes how a teacher might organise their classroom to facilitate this mode of instruction using literacy centres. The literacy skills discussed earlier in the book are revisited, and the author now illustrates how the teacher could teach these skills in another context. There will also be some discussion on how this instructional model allows for the differentiation of instruction for children who are learning English as an additional language and for children who have learning difficulties.
