ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book The book examines the companies' histories in some detail and consider how they and many others. It outlines the history of modern organizations and suggests a new way of thinking about management for the future. The chapter aims to show how the application of perspective, power, and pivot management can help produce the Future 500. It discusses the future of organizations and suggest how a new theory of management might help shape that future, the chapter analyzes the events that have brought us from the last great revolution in business management to the threshold of another. Prior to the 1890-1910 transformation, the invisible hand of the marketplace had governed the conduct of business worldwide, but the very growth it promoted resulted in a level of complexity that lay beyond the scope of existing approaches.
