ABSTRACT

Ethics and architecture both deal with power, seeking ways to steer it toward good or constructive purposes and speaking the truth to those who abuse their power. There are some who have argued that ethics is a way for those in power to keep others down, just as those who claim that architecture sometimes does the same. But both fields also show how to honor and respect those who have the least power, providing them opportunities that they might not otherwise have. These two fields show is that even the greatest abusers of power eventually lose their grip, like buildings that eventually fall down.
