ABSTRACT

The chapter deals with the search for justice and peace. It utilises Raymundo Panikkar’s ‘Geographical Model: Ways to the Mountain Peak’ to propose an all encompassing dialogue capable of taking the nation beyond the controversial Jambanja discourse that has polarised the nation with respect to land reform and mining concessions. Jambanja as a form of restitutive justice has divided the nation between ‘patriots’ and ‘sellouts’ using an arbitrary demarcation eulogized by the political elite, at the expense of eight other stakeholders. The chapter notes that Panikkar’s model is well replicated in the indigenous Indaba/Dare model which takes all stakeholders seriously for the benefit of all. The chapter therefore proposes that nine key stakeholders be invited for an all stakeholders Indaba/Dare, as the best way of achieving peace with justice for the enhancement of national development.
