ABSTRACT

This chapter contributes to understanding the concepts of family learning and inclusion by giving consideration to the impact of practice upon policy. The chapter promotes exchange of knowledge and understanding on issues to prompt the reader’s reflection, re-configuration, discussion, dissent, argument, or agreement. There will always be debate on society’s responses to children. Expertise from around the world is available, accessible, and appropriate to inform the next generation of parents and professionals. The concepts of organisational memory and intellectual curiosity are raised in association with the capacity and ability of employees to develop self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-critique of practice. Succession planning is an essential aspect of every organisation, and this chapter reviews the issue in a context of sustaining good practice, and closing the implementation gap.
