ABSTRACT

Based on the previous survey of the different understandings and applications of vision in several scholarly disciplines and applied domains, the final two chapters of this book examine how the lessons drawn from the various fields can be utilised for the purpose of enriching Christian life and ministry. The current chapter seeks to answer six pertinent questions in this respect: (1) What does vision involve in a contemporary Christian context? (2) What are the main features of an effective Christian vision? (3) What is vision like for the whole church community? (4) How can we generate a Christian vision? (5) How can we be sure that the vision we have received is from God? (6) How long do we need to wait before starting to implement a vision? The answers will partly draw on the material presented in the earlier chapters and partly on the writings of contemporary Christian leadership experts and visionary leaders.
