ABSTRACT
Enzymeimmunoassay(EIA)techniqueshavebeenextensivelyappliedinveterinary medicinetothedetectionofantibodyfortheindirectorpresumptivediagnosisofinfection. Toasomewhatlesserextent,EIAtechniqueshavebeenappliedtothedetectionofantigens fordirectdemonstrationofpathogens.ThischapterwillfocusprimarilyonaspectsofEIA development,standardization,andapplicationasrelatedtotheserologicaldiagnosisofbovine brucellosis.
