ABSTRACT

The need for building owners and facilities managers to be aware of the asbestos containing-materials (ACM) in their properties is well recognized. An asbestos control program must start with a building survey which results in a professionally prepared asbestos Building Inspection Report. This chapter identifies the location and condition of all ACM in the building. Many buildings have active facilities management programs involving constant renovations, installations, and other alterations which require continual updating of ACM status. As owners coordinate strategic cleanup plans with ongoing facilities management, recordkeeping becomes crucial. Desktop Operations & Management joins graphics and data in the same base file in a manner which allows quick and easy entry and manipulation. All data including text, graphics, and photo displays are easily manipulated to provide comprehensive analysis and reports. Data may be retrieved by graphic or text inquiry and the user can redraw floor plans and edit graphics as necessary.
