ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the operation, features, and benefits to the user of the CONCEPT 4®Automatic Radioassay, together with the complementary AUTOPAK® Test Delivery System chemistries. Micromedic® Systems, recognizing the need and benefits of automation in the radioassay laboratory, has developed several different instrument systems which tailor the degree of automation to the customer's needs. The CONCEPT 4® Automatic Radioassay, together with the complementary AUTOPAK® Test Delivery System, offers the ultimate in radioassay automation. CONCEPT 4® occupies relatively little laboratory space. The primary reasons for this are the miniaturization of the electronics and the use of 8 × 50 mm, rather than 12 × 75 mm, tubes in the chemistries used on this system. The AUTOPAK® chemistries may also be conveniently run using other Mi-cromedic® pipetting and counting equipment, such as the Automatic Pipette, Reagent Dispenser, Automated Pipetting Station, and the 4/200, 2/200, and 4/600 Automatic Gamma Counters.
