ABSTRACT

In the study of The Chelsea Back Program, the Biltrite Company changed its attitude towards low back pain and back injuries. They initiate proper care, changed work sites found to be causing back pain and worked as a team to contain back injuries. Most athletes and coaches agree that there is a psychology to winning, a winning mental attitude, and it begins with the premise, or belief, that winning is possible. According to a report by the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health and Long Term Care, quackery is a 10 billion dollar a year scandal. All companies and organizations are not as open about sharing their internal statistics, and some, like US government agencies, have set policies against doing so. When considering the incredibly tough working conditions in coal, railroad, and utility industries, these successes should serve as convincing proof to lighter industries that they, too, can take control of their back injury problems.
