ABSTRACT

The purpose of a business plan is to state what an organization will accomplish over a time frame. Reliability is at the heart of Development Before the Fact (DBTF). DBTF treats all objects as complete systems. It provides an initial and logical framework using mathematics within which objects, their structure, behavior, and interactions with other objects may be captured. The DBTF approach includes a language, an approach, and a process, all of which are based on a formal theory. A way to begin designing a system-oriented object is that an observer compares the behavior of real-world objects to the known tools that support the DBTF object modeling theory. DBTF is used throughout a life cycle, starting with the formulation of concepts and interviewing the user, and continuing with the definition of requirements, development, implementation, configuration management, testing, maintenance, and reverse engineering. Its users include end users, managers, system engineers, software engineers, and test engineers.
