ABSTRACT
ComputationofdeformationenergyintheframeworkofLDM,FRNFM,orY+EM,for anucleuswithanarbitraryshapeorforasystemofnuclei,isarathercomplex,timeconsumingtask,duetothemanifoldintegralsinvolved,aswehavealreadyseeninChapter 3.Thereareonlyafewparticularsimplegeometricshapesorsystemsforwhich,by integration,onecangetanalyticalrelationshipsofCoulomb,surface,ornuclearenergies. Inspiteofitssimplicity,theinvestigationofsuchidealizedcasesisrewarding,becausethe gainedphysicalinformationisextendabletorealsystems.
