ABSTRACT
The determination of seroprevalence is strongly influenced by the mode of testing and interpretation since B. canis shares antigenic determinants with all R-brucellae as well as with several unrelated organisms, some of which are cited above. False positive reactions are common with all methods that measure antibodies to R-envelope LPS antigens, e.g., agglutination or immunodiffusion tests.
