ABSTRACT
Trade-off analysis typical ly involves the comparison of a set of alternatives relat ive to a series of decision factors. In this study the alternatives are represented by the 11 technological clusters. The series of decision factors can include the degree of meeting the need to expand agricultural product ivi ty and environmental impacts (both beneficial anddetrimental impacts should be considered). The decision factors can be further subdivided; for example, environmental impacts can be considered to consist of water and soil impacts, air impacts, and noise and solid waste impacts.
