ABSTRACT

The structure of the Conference is a matter of concern. A full and equal partnership between industry and government is necessary and desirable at the committee level. The Committee ratified the proposal of a change in the Conference's articles of incorporation which, in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution, had been mailed to members 45 days in advance of the 1986 Conference. The Committee discussed the frequency of the general conference which currently is every two years. The Committee agreed that the Conference agenda should emphasize issues of immediacy rather than traditional, boilerplate problems. The Committee identified constitutional issues related to items such as committee and council structure, membership fees, and voting which are in need of revision. These will be referred to a Constitutions and By Laws Subcommittee which will be created to review the entire Constitution and By Laws and to formulate recommendations for the Executive Committee to consider.
