ABSTRACT
Asparagus, Asparagus officinalis L., often referred to as garden asparagus, is the only species in the genus Asparagus L. (Myrsiphyllum Willd.) 1 , 2 that has been domesticated for edible consumption and is considered an important commercial vegetable. It is grown for its edible spring shoots.
