ABSTRACT
Anagallis arvensis L. (Primulaceae) is a procumbent annual weed, widely distributed in temperate areas; the attention of geneticists and of botanists has been drawn to this well-known species for more than a century, and even the different types of “proliferous flowers”, occurring in autumn under natural conditions, were already described in 1864 (Marchand, cited in Reference 3).
