ABSTRACT
Acquiring hardware or software systems from more than one vendor can pose significant challenges. It also has its advantages, however, not the least of which are lower cost and better service. The challenges of a multivendor environment can be managed successfully if the data center operations manager approaches them systematically. This chapter discusses these challenges and suggests practical solutions.
