Octapeptide A has the composition (Ala,Asp,Glu,Gly,Leu,Lys₂,Phe). Treatment of A with LiBH₄ followed by hydrolysis gives 2-amino-1,5-pentanediol; treatment with FDNB followed by hydrolysis gives DNP–lysine.
