ABSTRACT

With the 1990 invasion of Rwanda by the predominantly Tutsi Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), Hutu extremists engaged in hate propaganda through the Kangura newspaper and radio broadcasts that was meant to intensify racist anti-Tutsi anger among the country's Hutu majority. This informed the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi which took place because elements of the established Hutu Power regime did not want to share power with the rebels. Hutu Power hate propaganda was particularly vicious toward Tutsi women who experienced terrible sexual violence during the genocide. The Batutsi are bloodthirsty and power-hungry and want to impose their hegemony on the people of Rwanda using armed force. The Rwandan Armed Forces should be exclusively Hutu. That is the lesson we learned from the October 1990 war. The 1959 social revolution, the 1961 referendum and the Hutu ideology must be taught to Hutus at all levels. Every Hutu must propagate the present ideology widely.
