ABSTRACT
In January 1979, during the Kagera War, the Tanzanian People’s Defense Force (TPDF) and allied Ugandan exiles invaded Uganda and overthrew the military dictatorship of Idi Amin. In the following account, one of Amin’s officers describes the key engagement that took place around Lukaya in March of that year.
