ABSTRACT

The European Sustainable Workforce Survey (ESWS) was one of the first cross-country comparative multilevel organizational surveys in the field. In this chapter, the authors compare the ESWS to previous survey designs, and describe the process of selecting and approaching organizations for the study, how the surveying of different actors took place, and report the response rates across different actors and survey modes. Besides serving as a companion chapter to other contributions in this volume that use ESWS, the authors also aim to inform and guide future research that undertakes comparative multilevel organizational surveys.
