ABSTRACT
The following section is a slightly annotated, international checklist of unpublished dissertations, wholly or largely concerned with VW and her works, compiled from a variety of reference sources (chiefly DISSERTATION ABSTRACTS INTERNATIONAL), through 1983. In each case, the fullest version of the dissertation title, the institution presenting the degree, and the degree date are provided. Despite the lack of any comprehensive subject index for dissertations, every attempt has been made to identify those dissertations containing significant discussions of VW, or of one or more of her works, which fail to name her or her works in their titles. Master’s theses are not included here; however, a number of European theses, the academic equivalents of doctoral dissertations, have been listed. The annotations refer the user to the published dissertation abstracts and/or to any revised or unrevised publication of the dissertation, entered elsewhere in this bibliography.
