ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a hypothetical case of cannibalism and in so doing presents different viewpoints as possible verdicts. These viewpoints are based on different legal theories. All get to present their views: natural law theorists, consequentialists, rights theorists, feminists, positivists, textualists, purposivists, realists, pragmatists, contextualists, critical race theorists, minimalists and process theorists. This case shows that the same facts can lead to widely different results, depending on which theory of law is given importance while formulating the judgement.
