ABSTRACT
The second chapter of The Nature of Contemporary Organization Development provides a comprehensive review of literature on OD. It details the origins of the term ‘Organization Development’, and outlines its definition, boundaries and history. The chapter also provides a description of traditional OD and the context and challenges around core OD in the UK, with reference critiques of OD, debates on its value and the prognosis for its future.
