ABSTRACT
This chapter explains Liberal Child Welfare Policy and its Destruction of Black Lives. Adult-centered liberals are reproducing in another generation the very disadvantage and deprivation they lament, thereby perpetuating the subordination of black people in America. Any true liberal should be horrified by what the state is now doing to children, far more concerned about that than about the incidental effects on adults of treating children with the moral respect they deserve. The chapter imprisoning black children literally in prison nurseries, and the chapter are imprisoning them figuratively by placing them into parent–child relationships and community environments that are confining, dangerous, and destructive. It should not be deciding the fate of any child based on sympathy for other individuals, concern for survival of communities, or comprehensive plans for remaking society. The chapter explains adults are not required to make decisions about our family relationships, such as whether to marry or divorce someone, based on such considerations.
