ABSTRACT

Research relies on evidence, and evidence comes from many sources. Chapter 11 describes sources of data and helps establish procedures for the alignment of the right kind of information to answer the research questions. Evidence sources, including establishing research categories or data partitions, are defined and outlined. Process steps for data collection in field research are provided. Aligning samples for hypothesis testing is covered. An example of triangulation of data sources for the purpose of validity and reliability is provided. The importance of an Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the use of human subjects for research purposes is emphasized.
