ABSTRACT

There are many different ways of testing hypotheses and this chapter reviews the most commonly used techniques available to sixth-formers. The majority are statistical tests but these are simple and easily followed, and the calculations they involve would be within the range of an able first-former. They may however, be tedious, and a pocket calculator would save much time and effort in performing the calculations.
