ABSTRACT
A conversation with Dr. Risë VanFleet and Tracie Faa-Thompson. Dr. VanFleet is founder and Tracie is cofounder of the International Institute for Animal Assisted Play Therapy™ Studies. They have collaborated on publications and offer trainings in animal-assisted play therapy. They coauthored the book Animal Assisted Play Therapy. Dr. VanFleet has a practice in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania. She is a licensed psychologist, a registered play therapist and supervisor, a certified filial therapy therapist, a supervisor and an instructor, and a certified dog behavior consultant. Dr. Risë VanFleet began practicing animal-assisted play therapy with canines as her therapy animals. Tracie Faa-Thompson has a practice in Northumberland, United Kingdom. She primarily works with equines as her therapy animals. Tracie is a social worker and a registered play therapist with the British Association of Play Therapy. Risë and Tracie provide therapy for children and adults with emotional and mental health issues.
