ABSTRACT
Globally, foodborne diseases and zoonoses are important public health and animal health problems. Prevention and reduction of foodborne diseases and zoonoses by ante-and post-mortem meat inspection are a historical responsibility of Veterinary Services (see definition in Table 1). Veterinary Services in most advanced countries are responsible for designing and implementing ante-and post-mortem meat inspection programmes (Anon., 2016).
