ABSTRACT
Wheat is simultaneously a low-value crop for farmers and a high-value crop for the human species. Farmers may not be able to afford to protect their wheat crop against pests and diseases. Civilization may not be able to afford the dire consequences of farmers not protecting their wheat crops against pests and diseases.
