ABSTRACT

As soon as we feel comfortable with the preventive measures plan that the team has developed and reevaluated it for risk, it is time to execute the plan. We have double-checked the plan for its effectiveness, with respect to predicting the chances that the problem will occur, plus our ability to detect it if it does occur. We have also developed actions that are intended to counteract or neutralize the effects of the potential problem if it were to occur. After we are convinced that everyone understands the planned actions, the authors' advice is to simply implement the plan and "live in" the process until we are confident that our plan is working effectively. If our control is a measurement or audit, again, be certain that all who perform the control testing first know how to accurately make the measurement, and then measure or audit often in the early stages of implementation.
