ABSTRACT

A conventional education often treats human beings more like mindless machines than sensing and feeling organisms capable of thinking, wondering, reasoning, creating, and imagining. Humans possess a nervous system made up of billions of neurons, each one of which connects to upwards of ten thousand of its near to distant neighbors. Techniques to simulate people unique human neural networks are basically drawn from cognitive psychology and from biological models. Digital computers use sequential processing, while neural networks use parallel processing. Digital computers use programs to execute, while neural networks use associative learning rules. In terms of calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, a computer is more efficient than a human brain. A computer is capable of making computations and storing information through digital switching devices. Its operations are strictly electronic, and, before the digital age, mechanical and initiated by the human user.
