ABSTRACT

The importance of listening to personal and professional effectiveness is re-emphasized. Students are shown how to benefit from the Listening Advantage by creating SMART goals that focus on achieving the specific outcomes most essential to reaching their individual and career objectives. They are asked to reflect on and record their scores from the self-assessments in earlier chapters, and to create an action plan that will guide them in future listening improvement. The value of Part III, Listening Applications and Contexts, is described. A comprehensive table is provided in Part III that assists in identifying the specific Listening Outcomes associated with each of six careers.
